Strandwire Compound

Here’s another little compound that takes any polygon object as an input and draws strands along all the edges turning it into a wireframe mesh.

Compound parameters:

Here’s an example of the compound working on a character model:

ICE Scatter compound

I’ve created a little compound that does scattering of ICE instances in Softimage, it’s a pretty common task and while the simple emit nodes often does the job I find it useful to have a compound dedicated to this task, the key features are:

  • Works on both simulated and non-simulated ICE trees
  • Functionality to avoid intersection of instances
  • Allows proper layering of multiple scatter compounds
  • Functionality to stick the instances to a deformed mesh
  • Compound parameters:

1.5 million cubes instances, aligned to the suface normal:

Here’s another little arnold test, this time trying out the SSS shader, model by third party.

    Dodge Viper

Here’s a new picture I’ve been working on, again lit and rendered in Arnold.

    CGTalk Lighting challenge

Here is my entry for the CGTalk bedroom lighting challenge, all rendered in Arnold:

    Steampunk R2D2

Here is a model i’ve been working on, it’s all done in softimage and rendered in the arnold renderer:

At some point I should create a proper environment for the model but for now I just droped the model into a scene I had previously created and came up with this result, again all rendered in arnold:

    My first post

Welcome to my blog, having just setup the site there isn’t much here yet but I’m hoping that will change soon. The purpose of the blog will be to show off some of my work as well as post other interesting things related to the cg industry.
